I truly never knew what was going to happen next. I loved the unreliable narrator aspect and how everything unfolded. I do wish the ending hadn't been a time skip but I also understand why it was. Great book overall.
I really liked this book. I thought the multiple narratives helped slowly draw the story together wonderfully.
I found the story of David and Birdie's takeover of the house so chilling and horrible. I also thought the suspense was built well and the twists in the book were pretty good.
Henry was a very interesting and twisted character. I think the ending chapter revealed a lot about his character, and the author did a good job of letting the reader decide how they feel about him.
The only negative about this book for me is the relationship between Miller and Libby. I think the fact that Miller wrote the original article about the house incident (when Libby was only a baby), then he ends up romantically involved with her was a bit strange. I understand his involvement in helping her discover the truth, but I think the age difference and especially the fact he's known about Libby since she was a baby and has been focused on her case throughout his life makes the romantic element uncomfortable for me.
However, the romance between the two is not integral to the novel. It is only mentioned a few times, but I think it was enough to lose it a star in my review.

ainda tô chocada como li esse livro rápido!!!!!!!! simplesmente não conseguia parar de ler, a curiosidade falando mais alto, criando mil teorias na minha cabeça (acertei algumas). uma leitura mt envolvente e que me prendeu fácil.
I wasn’t as impressed with this book as most people seemed to be. Still, I will give it 3-1/2 stars. I had a very difficult time concentrating on it but that might be my fault because I’ve had a lot on my mind lately.
Loved it! Finished it in a day. Couldn’t put it down.
Excellent. It isn't a mystery until..., it isn't a thriller either - but it's edgy. Twist and turn while welcoming the characters into your heart - well, maybe not all the characters-or yes, all of them. Well worth your time.
