These books are very nostalgic for me and hold a special place in my heart because of the name Madeline. I love looking at the whimsical illustrations and I remember analyzing the details of each picture as a kid. Rereading these made me realize how well they made the film.

I didn’t read Madeline a lot as a kid, but this treasury was lovely and still somehow familiar.

Bea’s review: rhyming is funny. Love the colors. Pages could taste better.

Mom’s review: loved reading this charming series aloud, the rhymes and rhythms are really fun. But the series went down hill when Pepito was introduced. Liked it better as an all-girl’s cast.
