I absolutely adored this book and was inspired by the story of Nanée, an American living in occupied France who helped relay messages to refugees during the early years of World War II. Her world collided with Edouard Moss, a German Jewish photographer who was placed in an internment camp in France and separated from his daughter, in a story of great compassion. This story had many twists and turns that had me questioning what obstacles would appear next and how the characters would fight to stay safe and help others in wartime Europe. This book showed a deep theme of resiliency and finding yourself, and I appreciated all I learned about the experiences of individuals fighting to help others in wartime France. A very thought provoking book that pulled at the heartstrings!
