This is a very interesting book. I did struggle though with the opening 50 to 70 pages due to the choppy style of writing which upon reflection made sense given the characters in play in that section. I will go back and take a second look at the opening section to see if it makes more sense. A very though provoking story. Zadie Smith is a very interesting writing, very creative and made me think more deeply about the characters as the story progressed. This would be an excellent book to discuss in a group.

this is a really amazing book but it took me a while to get through/comprehend mostly because of my own personal brain rot, but enjoyable none the less (is nonetheless one word??)

While I could connect to the theme of class mobility in the novel, the text itself did not work for me- it was a struggle to get through this one

I don't think I enjoyed this book very much. I found the abrupt end of each character's section rather frustrating and I didn't understand Natalie's actions very well. I also didn't get how she came to the conclusion about the identity of the
murderer/the person involved in the murder
