It's been a while since I read the first book in a series and just had to read the sequel immediately after. Props on that. Enjoyable, dark and interesting angel book. I look forward to the next book, World After.

I CONSUMED this book in a day. I wasn't sure what to expect going in, but I am completely obsessed with this eerie twisted story filled with so many horrifying details but also a tragic romance (my favorite kind). It's a gruesome take on angels and a supernatural apocalypse. It's interesting really because this book doesn't offer much in terms of world building and backstory but it was still enough. Normally I can't do apocolypse type books because they give me too much anxiety, but this is a clear exception. Penryn was such a fantastic narrator, and I'm so happy to have entered her world. Getting my hands on the next book stat.

a good book overall! i enjoyed it and the writing was really easy to grasp and the romance didn't sound forced and blended well with the plot! it's a good book but 4 stars only because it isn't really impactful or leaves a strong impression.

At the beginning I thought it a bit corny and the plot unimaginative. However, the world the writer weaves finally starts to come together. Then it actually becomes uniquely intriguing and makes you really want to know where she's going with this version of angelic lore.
