The art is so good. The image of the Earth guarded by yokai from aliens! The 2 page spreads! The anatomical model that burst apart! It's so good that it makes you forget this volume starts with two teen girls in their underwear and a naked male classmate fighting a Loch Ness, mates shrimp, and alien hybrid. Then you see the school nurse and realize all that was for the plot, but the nurse is just a weird kink.
There's the anatomical model chapters, which were sweet, and the introduction of Jiji. It was sweet until you his insomnia and what caused it. The warped perspective of Jiji and that spirit was frightening.

This volume begins with our trio figuring out how to beat the merged Serpoian-Nessie-Dover Demon monster, ending with public embarrassment at school and a realization that the Yokai spirits might be protecting Earth from alien invasions. Aira stands up for Momo and they again take in a creature, this time it's the Dover Demon, who they think is a Kappa and they want to help save his son. Unexpectedly, Momo's childhood friend Jiji, who is a charming goofball, appears at their door and her aunt sets her on a mission to check the auras at his home. Okarun is, of course, jealous, and we end with a cliffhanger of them arriving at Jiji's home, and being observed by some beings from the forest around them.

This series continues to be fantastic. It has every element of every kind of story blended so wonderfully that I can’t help loving it completely. Also, the two page spread with the cow really gets me every single time I look at it. It’s just so perfectly encapsulates every aspect of this series in such a beautiful snapshot. It’s heartwarming, funny, action-y. It’s just so good.
