Jiji is so freakin random, I love him.

The translator did a great job translating Jiji’s random noises. (And random Portuguese.) 

I did think that Seiko calling Jiji a “genius” was a bit too literal-translation. 天才 can mean anybody who’s good at something, but genius only means high-IQ in English. So Jiji buttering Seiko up could have been a bit more “localized,” I feel. Smooth-talker? Suave? Lady’s man? I might have gone for one of these.

As well, I did not notice in the English, but when I compared to the Japanese I realized I had interpreted the English wrong due to the translation.

Jiji: Okarun, that’s awesome. You know just about everything! I seriously respect you as a friend, ya know?!

Okarun: A… a friend…

Jiji: What?! Am I wrong? That’s shocking, man!

Initially I had not understood what Jiji was talking about when he said “Am I wrong?” because there was no solid connection between his previous dialogue and this one. What he means here is that he was wrong to call Okarun a friend. I had initially interpreted Jiji saying that he was wrong to say that Okarun knows everything.

But this could just be me!
