This book really picks up in both the steam department and the plot department. Things kind of take off at a breakneck pace after the “misunderstanding” with Robert* and don’t really settle down the entire book. It makes for a very fast read that’s hard to put down.

*the Robert thing… I don’t think Cyrus did enough apology wise; he didn’t even grovel. Worse yet, Gabby apologizes to HIM after his former lover verbally punched her in the face AND plucked every single insecurity in his catty-bitch-fit. She just accepts his apology for being gone through the week and then accepts his ring. It was unsatisfying. However Robert being eaten by a giant centipede later WAS a nice touch.

Back to the things I liked. Again, the men. I really love the way they dote on her, the way they protect her, the way they cherish her and each have their own thing. I don’t know how it’s going to carry with even more men being added, 6 was a lot, 8 was a LOT, 10 seems excessive? But we’ll see! I freakin love Foster, Bal, and Grey… and Pearson has potential and I’m glad Palmer groveled and apologized and did his super cute date night thing AND still didn’t feel completely worthy of Gabby — THAT is how you make up for shitty mistakes. We’ll see how he does in the big leagues with the rest of the mates.

I’m SO glad that Queen Bee-otch got knocked down quite a few pegs, as did her mother, and basically the entire council. Things are moving super fast in the external plot parts; goddess interference, council take over, nasty creatures attacking, Roberts attempted revenged, and whoever the hell the Night is. There’s a LOT going on that will need to be answered in the next two books. But I look forward to it. Gabby has grown a lot and isn’t quite as cringey and I genuinely like her harem lol

I enjoyed this book more than the first, there were still several issues with the book which make it feel like a Wattpad story but I am still enjoying it.

Fabulous follow up to the first book. I love how both the characters and adventure developed in tandem. Also very very sexy.
