This book was amazing. This series was amazing. I laughed and I cried and I giggled with excitement. IM GOING TO MISS THESE CHARACTERS SO MUCH
Would have been 5 stars - the ending was a boner killer for me with the one friend being pregnant and then one of the main characters suggesting it … why does it need to go that far every time?
leo is EVERYTHING

Hail Mary is the fourth and final book in the Red Zone Rivals series and it was bittersweet coming to the end of these football boys AND girl that we love. Kandi’s writing is always so beautiful and this was no different. Hail Mary was beautifully written, addicting, emotional and the perfect conclusion to the series. It was a perfect combination of Mary and Leo having their own story but also wrapping up the stories of our other characters and giving us an idea of where they end up.
The beginning sets up Mary & Leo’s story and why she hates him so much. And all I am going to say is it is heartbreaking, especially for any of us who felt like we didn’t belong in high school. Years later she happens to be living across the street from him in his football house. Leo might not recognize her, but he is still attracted to her and unsure why she hates him so much. Unfortunately for Mary, a problem with her house causes her to temporarily stay with Leo and his friends. There is a lot of push and pull between these two. They get close, and then Mary remembers why she hates him and pushes him away. There is a lot of tension and slow build between them. I really appreciated how much of a strong woman Mary was. She wasn’t a pushover who just let Leo into her life despite the pain he caused, but she was also strong enough to find a way to work through all that pain and give it a try. When the secrets from the past come out, the emotions are high and it was a sweet moment between them.
How freaking badash is Mary though! I love that she wasn’t your typical heroine. She is covered in tattoos and instead of going to school she is working towards her dream of becoming a tattoo artist. She had some ups and downs in that shop but she never wavered in that was what she wanted to do. Leo is total book boyfriend material. He cooks! He is sweet! Dedicated to his sport! He is hispanic and the way she speaks those spanish words
