mary makes me want to get tattoos… im equally obsessed with leo too (the candles and tostones
"You have consumed me for months. Para años."
"Let me see my girl."
"'Hate me again?'
'So much.'"
Wow, okay. First, I would just like to thank Kandi for allowing me to beta read this amazing book.
Mary Silver is the perfect badass that completes the four girls. A thick girl with tattoos and video games hits me super close to home. Kandi has an amazing way of writing characters that you can relate to and their struggles. This book made me feel seen. My insecurities, family issues, body issues, being the "gamer/nerd" girl.
Leo effing Hernandez may seem arrogant at first, but he's not. He's emotional, humble, and cares so deeply. I think his intensely can rival Holden. I also think Leo is the perfect combo for the boys as well.
The world and relationship building is just great in this series because everyone feels like their own story, their own couple, and struggles.
For the actual story, the first three chapter immediately pulled me in. I felt like I was in high school again talking to stupid boys on the phone. I felt a giddiness I haven't felt in almost ten years. It was extraordinary. The flaws and conflict were so well done.
I cannot believe this series is over, but damn, what a BANG to end on.
Perfection. The epilogue will have you SOBBING.

ARC Review - Hail Mary by Kandi Steiner
Releasing February 15, 2023
Book 4 in the Red Zone Rivals series had a lot to live up to. Kandi held absolutely nothing back when she released Quarterback Sneak, and I was so curious to see what she gave us with Hail Mary. Kandi absolutely delivered with this book. The emotions that Kandi made me feel while reading this book ripped my heart out. She was able to transport me back to my fragile teenage years when all I wanted was to be accepted for who I was, but what I got was backstabbing and a whole lot of tears.
Mary’s story, from high school through the end of the book, brought me to tears multiple times. While the things that Mary experienced in high school are probably more extreme than what a lot of us did, the way it’s written brings you right back to your own high school days, feeling that gut wrenching pain of trying to find yourself while also fitting in.
Leo & Mary had me hooked from page 1, and honestly that surprised me a bit. Because honestly I was kind of off-put by Mary’s coldness to Leo in the previous book. I didn’t understand it, so it wasn’t super intriguing. But that changed real quick, because this story had me absolutely hooked. Leo and Mary had a connection they was deeper than the physical chemistry they shared, and it was so beautiful. As teenagers, they were lucky enough to find in each other a true friend, and someone they could confide their biggest dreams as well as their biggest fears. But when their paths cross again years later, you quickly see how old wounds can still be incredibly painful.
I feel like I say this about every Kandi Steiner book, but her writing absolutely blew me away. No other author is able to make me feel emotions like Kandi does. When I’m reading her books I am right there in the story, because through her words she paints the most vivid pictures of the worlds she creates.
Hail Mary releases on February 15 and is an absolute must read. This is such a beautiful ending to a beloved group of teammates at NBU. While I’m sad to see this story come to an end, I’m so excited to see what Kandi has in store for us next!

Oh ma gaddddd this was my favourite of the series.
I binge read this and just couldn't get enough. I'm so attached to these characters I cannot believe it's over

This book has me feeling every type of way.
I love a second chance romance, and Leo is such a friggin sweetie I can’t take it.
Leo and Mary met playing Halo online in high school (they have a huge separation) and their paths cross again in college.
Leo is hot shot football man with a huge personality.
Mary is a tatted and pierced curvy girl who doesn’t give Leo the time of day. Why would she? He doesn’t remember or recognize her from high school.
Mary has her Leo walls built high. She is stubborn and refuses all of his charm and remarks. But that just makes him want her more. Men love the challenge.
Must read, and see how Leo breaks down her walls and crawls his way into her heart.

I was enjoying it until 56% (that would be 4⭐️) then it got so boring I skimmed all the way through to the epilogue which was decent and a nice conclusion to the series. Still the second ‘half’ was more like 2⭐️ so overall it’s 3 ⭐️.
3.75? certain parts were higher and i enjoyed it overall, just not as much as some of the others
Holy crap! I cannot with this man!! Leo f*cking Rodriguez!!! He absolutely crush bf of the year!!! I already know that Mrs. Kandi Steiner can do no wrong and she absolutely crushed this book.
There was love, lust, angst, happiness and all of the freaken emotions. If you have not read this book yet, do yourself a favor and read it!!! You need to know about the “scene!!”
