When he said she ruined him for other women I almost fainted. Leo Hernandez is built differently
the final installment in the Red Zone Rivals series was an absolutely perfect conclusion to what is definitely one of my top sports romance series I’ve ever read.
My heart broke a little at the start, but boy did Leo put it back together. The setup was really good! I loved the prologue from their teenage years and how it all went wrong. I also enjoyed the rocky road that is the arc between Mary and her mother. Mom-and-daughter relationships can be hard to navigate, especially when you have two strong-willed people. Also the moment when Leo speaks Spanish >>>>>>> However. I felt like the ending was too rushed so minus 1 for that :/ Nevertheless, it was a good read! :D

Junto firmas para que las escritoras yankees dejen de hacer a sus personajes hispanos y hacerlos hablar en español si NO SABEN ESPAÑOL.
"You have consumed me for months,” Leo breathed against my neck, maneuvering my head so he could kiss along the column of my throat before working his way back to my mouth. “Para años."
PARA AÑOS???????? QUE HDP

✨ college sports romance - football
✨ dislike to lovers
✨ forced proximity - roommates
✨ tattooed curvy heroine
Mary Silver hates Leo Hernandez and for years she’s been able to avoid him the most she can. Until she needs somewhere to go until her house can be fixed and her only option is her neighbor. Moving in with Leo wasn’t part of the plan but it’s only temporary until she sees sides of Leo he doesn’t show the rest of the world and wonders if she was wrong about the past.
I will say after Quarterback Sneak I wasn’t sure if I would love another one in this series just as much. But this one was Every thing I wanted it to be. I love that we get to start from the past where it all began for Mary and Leo. I thought the way they met was so unique and it gave me a new perspective on both characters.
The forced proximity was everything and I love Mary’s character, she is a very strong sure of herself person who obviously still struggles with the self doubt other people have put in her head. Watching her fight for her dream of being a tattoo artist was my favorite. Getting more of Leo and his softer side and who he actually is opposed to the guy we’ve been shown the last 3 books.
I am glad the author didn’t drag out the big reveal and Mary and Leo got to love each other the way they were always suppose to. My heart hurt for these characters and what they might have missed out on the past 6 years but I love watching these characters find their way back to each other. Leo is an ultimate book boyfriend who may mess up from time to time but once he has Mary he’ll do anything to keep her and keep her safe. With a dirty mouth to keep up with it.
I love a complex mother daughter relationship and I love to see them come together at the end. This series will be one of my favorite and the ending had me tearing up just a little bit watching all these couples truly get their happily ever after. It’s bittersweet to say goodbye to all of them.
