Hail Mary

I loveeee Leo! I’ve only read one other book from the series and I remember liking him in Blind Side but he’s so sweet in Hail Mary. He makes mistakes but he learns from them and he’s so thoughtful throughout the whole story. I expected to LOVE this book but I actually liked Blind Side more. I liked Mary but she also kind of annoyed me?? Like damn sis, give the man a break! I did really like her relationship with her roommates and at some points I was left wondering if we were going to get a story for Kyle? Also, I feel like the what happened with her boss was wrapped up really fast at the end - almost like it was an afterthought? I kept reading about the wedding and was wondering when we were going to find out about Nero and it was rushed and a little anticlimactic? Maybe it’s just me but I for sure wanted him to go down harder. I would still highly recommend this book and again, I must stress how much I love Leo!

Cute college football romance. It was a bit slow going and I find it super hard to believe that Leo didn't recognize Mary at all from High School.

I do like it when the MMC is golden retriever energy and screws like a dream.

This is a re-read, first time with the audio. This is by far my favorite Kandi Steiner book (I’m actually not sure if I’m going to read anything from her again. Not sure her books are for me, except this one). I think it is the best in this series and the audiobook narrators were definitely better than the first 3. Though I didn’t like it quite as much as the first time around, I still think it holds up pretty good. I like the tropes and I like the characters. You also get the benefit of having the couples from the earlier books around and I like how the girls became Mary’s first real group of friends. Re-reading my review from the first one, I agree with how much I liked how Leo wasn’t afraid to show his emotions, despite having his cocky reputation, and how committed he was to Mary from the get go.
