I liked this book and found the dual POV interesting. I liked that it was an internal conflict that drove much of the character development. Not gonna lie, I did read this so that I would know what happens in Season Two of Bridgerton on Netflix.

hate the fact that bees were so important in this ...

Notorious Rake, Anthony, Viscount Bridgerton has decided to marry this season, and so marry this season he will. He has chosen the Diamond of the First Water, the most beautiful girl in her first season, and he knows nothing will get in his way. Edwina Sheffield is only 17, and with no dowry, she's not exactly a catch, despite her beauty. And then there's the fact that any man wanting to marry her has to have her sister's approval. And Kate does not approve of Rakes. Anthony discovers both of these facts when Colin sets him up, knowing Anthony will put his foot in it.

But... Anthony and Kate are a much better match than Anthony and Edwina. And Anthony can't get his mind off of Kate, despite the fact that he's supposed to be courting her sister. They see each other at their best and worst, before being caught in a compromising position (that's not really what it looks like, but, given the time period....)

The death of Anthony's father is very important in this story, as is the death of Kate's mother, and the causes of their deaths cause Anthony and Kate panic attacks at various points. Another possible troubling point is that Edwina is 17, and she's expected to marry this season, to someone older than her.

These books are roller coasters that constantly jerk between being a toxic relationship to be the “ideal” love story and it gives me whiplash.

I loved this book. It includes enemies to lovers slow burn, historical fiction and those intimate scenes everyone loves, the perfect recipe in my opinion.
The only thing I didn’t enjoy was the fact that Anthony and Kate were forced to get married because they were found in a “comprised” position. That had already happened in the first book of the series and it gave me deja vu. All is all this book is incredible.

Definitely more problematic and less realistic than the first book. It's kinda weird that Anthony is the bad guy in the first book and this one (his own story) and I don't feel like he earned his redemption. Kate was a piece of work like Daphin and Simon but they never reached Anthony's level. I do love the two epilogues their so wholesome and sweet. Stand out parts for Colin and Newton.
