Decent but it's hard to believe that people can be so clueless

Like many of Cabot's books, this is a sweet, lighthearted tale filled with romance which will appeal to many tween girls. Jean Honeychurch, a ministers daughter is known as "Jinx" to most due to her bad luck. Bad luck which leads her to move to New York to live with her uncle and aunt. Unfortunately, once there Jinx can't seem to escape her bad luck. Her cousin Tori is delving into the dark arts and would like Jinx to join her coven, only Jinx doesn't want to and to make matters worse, Zach, the boy whom Tori has a crush on is more interested in getting to know "cousin Jean from Iowa".

At first, I admit, at 21 years old I thought I might be a little too old for this book. Though Meg Cabot had been a childhood favourite of mine, and this book had been on my to read list since it was released, the beginning of the book came over as childish and I couldn't particularly get into it. However, I persevered as Meg Cabot was a favourite of mine, and I found this book to be surprisingly enjoyable and very sweet. I would definitely recommend to a younger audience, Meg Cabot has done it again. Can she do any wrong?!
funny lighthearted fast-paced

A reread that's stood the test of time and still very enjoyable! Easy writing style, interesting plot and love how everything ends up sorted out at the end

Cute, but a little frustrating that the main character is so unable to figure out that the boy she loves does really love her back. A little too blind for me.

nice!!! though gets a bit boring and long in between..overall a good story...:)

I am surprised there isn't a sequel to this one. It would be interesting to see how Jean develops magically.

Well, ceritanya cukup asyik dan penuh hiburan.😁

Meg Cabot adalah salah 1 penulis Favorit ku di jaman sekolah dulu, buku yang berkesan banget salah satunya yaitu "The Princess Diaries" dan "The Mediator".

*saatnya beralih ke timbunan lainnya 🙈

this book was my gateway drug to the world of meg cabot, best believe i own every meg cabot book in existence in all it's pink glittery cover glory. this might also be the only book i've read twice! i was very young when i read this but discussing this over and over again with my then best friend swinging in a park at 9pm - spooky! meg cabot never misses.
