This was a wonderful enemies to lovers story. Rowan and Charlotte coming together and changing their thoughts started with a little spark and time stuck in a storm and ends with a wonderful tale of finding your soulmate when you least expect it. Throw in the laughter with the Whitlock clan and you have a another heartwarming story.

This was my first Corinne Michaels book, and I learned a few things: 1. She does not excel at sex scenes. They felt awkwardly over the top and forced. The dirty talk was…not good. So so cringey. The vocabulary used was cringey. And even the mechanics of those scenes were not it. How’re you gonna write a first time without actually writing the P going in the V? Foreplay…foreplay…chapter change…they’re *in the middle* of fucking. I had to turn back my page and make sure I didn’t miss something. Was incredibly bizarre.
Sister’s ex is one of my least favorite tropes so I was grateful that part was (mostly) glossed over. I do wish her bitch of a sister had gotten more of a comeuppance.
The banter was cute and I liked that it went all the way through the book rather than stopping after they got together.
I thought the time trapped in the storm was excessive and WAY too real. I don’t read romance novels to read about the MMC helping the heroine pee off the side of the railing or helping her to go poop. 🙃
This was billed as “no third act breakup” and I gotta say…there was a breakup. At least, it felt that way to me. It dragged on for an unnecessary amount of time. You can tell angst is where Corinne excels.
I think this book (possibly this series) was a departure for her from her usual style/content. And I could tell.

Quick confession, I say this way too many times a day.
This isn’t my first Corinne Michaels book but it is the first of the series. The book follows Charlotte and Rowan, Charlotte hates Rowan because he is the ex that broke her sister’s heart and ran her off to New York. They are also neighbors with competing farms and they both want the same project and Charlotte not only wants it, she needs it to save her family’s farm. Rowan is a hell of a man, and I can’t fault her for falling for the man after he’s come to her rescue. One night in a cabin was all that was needed for them to push that hatred aside. I loved Rowan, he was perfect in my eyes. I absolutely hated Aurora, nothing would ever change my mind about that woman. The lies and the accusations were insane. I did think that at one point Charlotte was doing too much, I was like “woman let the man help you save your farm damn it!” The book was well written, I enjoy my fair share of Corinne books. Overall it was a fun read for me and I would definitely recommend it.
𝑫𝑰𝑺𝑪𝑳𝑨𝑰𝑴𝑬𝑹: As always, although this is an E-ARC, my thoughts are my own and this is my honest review. Thank you to Corinne Michaels and Valentine PR for the ARC opportunity.

This latest installment in the Whitlock Family series is SO GOOD! I loved Rowan and Charlotte together and the premise of two rival farmers competing for the same contract. Add in the fact that Rowan "dated" Charlotte's sister years ago and Charlotte hates Rowan for what she thinks he did to her sister? Oh, the enemies to lovers trope was on fire in this book. Then you add Charlotte and Rowan getting stuck in a storm while camping and having to share a sleeping bag? This book had everything! It was a breath of fresh air and really sucked me in. Rowan and Charlotte had such juicy tension but you could also tell just how much they cared about each other. I loved how Rowan took care of Charlotte, even though she was so mean to him at first because she thought he betrayed her sister. And can we talk about how awful of a person her sister Aurora was? She was the worst. I loved all of the side characters and every single member of the Whitlock family! I cannot wait for Brynn's book!
This is book 3 in the Whitlock Family series but can be read as a standalone (I skipped book 2). This was a fun enemies-to-lovers story that brought all the banter. Rowan and Charlotte are neighboring farmers competing for the same contract to grow their farms. They have never gotten along. It also has a forbidden element because Rowan is her sister's ex.
I loved the forced proximity of this. They have mutual friends and go on vacation together and end up having to share a room. Then they get stuck in a storm together and have to stay in a remote cabin for a few days just the two of them. It takes only one bed to the max when they have to share a sleeping bag to keep warm.
The chemistry between the two of them was explosive and I had a great time reading this book. I am excited for Rowan's sister's book next.

Following the story of Rowan and Charlotte, two farm owners who are struggling in their own ways to keep the farm going. They’re also neighbors as well as enemies. There’s talk that Rowan cheated on Charlotte’s sister when they dated so Charlotte cannot stand Rowan, and Rowan knows it’s a lie so he hates Charlotte for standing by it. But when unfortunate circumstances leave them cold and angry together, they have to improvise ways to heat up.
I loved this book so much! I fell in love with Rowan and Charlotte’s love story. I also loved the aspect of Rowan’s niece and the way the author incorporated the sign language into the book. The spice was spicy and the romance was definitely to die for. I will definitely have to read more of this author!!
