Tomorrow Sex Will Be Good by Katherine Angel

Is passable.

Sadly being a third of a yellow covered book colour did not save this book. Angel writes much of what has already been discussed by other feminist, and sex writers, and does not add to the field.

The parts I disliked most about this book was the reliance on random, art house films as example of human sexual thinking or practices. They weren’t formative films or even popular films that change our collective relationship to sex and consent.

There was a whole section about the polygraph. It just seemed Angel has read all the same books I have and decided to summarize and make their own essay taking parts of those books with no added insight.

The book is broken down into four essays: Consent, Desire, Arousal, and Vulnerability. The later being the only one new and different to the study of feminism-sex.

The repeating theme of this book was the difference between men and women, what causes it, and the problem with studying sex. For example, do women have less desire or more things to think about. Are those things she thinks about her own will or societies’ formation and expectations?

This book is for anyone that enjoys sex books, feminism and would like a general recapping of feminist and sex theory over the last 60 years

Very good and very interesting but felt a little constrained by its shortness. The writing certainly feels to be slightly speeding past what is most interesting in this book, particularly towards the end. I thought the first chapter, on consent, was by far the most interesting and well thought-out section of the book, but it’s nonetheless strong throughout and certainly a very valuable contribution to ‘pop-Philosophy’ feminist literature.

Wonderful. I am a man, married for 15 years, father of a teen girl and a young boy. While you are conscious of woman struggle to be where man is every day, at least in my case, after reading the book, my thought was that i did know nothing. The book is eye opening is so many ways. Somehow it invites you to see the things from another totally new (as a man) point of view, just to have a glance of the many difficulties woman faces on a daily basis, not only because of man, but also due to the many interpretations of how woman should face such daily challenges coming from the feminist camp. I think my daughter should read it but my son too. It makes you think. It offers you ways to explore to make society better for women (and men).
