One of the weaker books, I still reread this but only once for every three times I might reread "My Brother Michael". If written now it might even get classified as YA. (Don't, whatever you do, watch the so-called film adaption.)
Set in Greece, this time the main character is relatively fluent in Greek. While holidaying away from her base in Athens Nicola stumbles across suggestion that kidnapping and murder have been done, and she feels compelled to assist. In the process, she exposes herself to danger and the possibility of love. (So yes, fairly typical.)

Fun, adventurous, with a young woman protagonist, in a beautiful/menacing setting. A delight to read!

It was pretty good. There were some things I liked better in the movie than the book. I liked that the movie she met Mark first as that made sense why she would want to help him instead of coming upon someone who was shot. I liked how she did more in the book, she was older-but I didn’t like that we don’t know why everything is happening until the very end. I liked that the movie explained the missing jewels earlier.
I just don't care enough to finish and I'm sick of seeing it sitting there with my currently reading books.
