The King by Skye Warren
Oh my goodness, Penny, a little girl with so much grief, betrayal, and abandonment in her life! She comes from the wrong side of Tanglewood, but she keeps getting caught up with the rich and famous from the good side.
Damon, a character who has been in so many of Skye Warren's books, is having his story told and it's a sinister one. His father is a monster, and Damon once tried to get away from his dreadful father, and then he met Penny.
Such sadness and sorrow in this book, I am feeling emotionally drained from it.

DNF I might go back to this at some point, but that first story... Nightmare fuel.
