This is almost tooth-rotting sweet, but so enjoyable because it’s so much different than what I normally read. I really enjoy the different art styles, and the characters are well designed in both appearance and personality.

This was so, so funny! This is definitly not a book for people who have little experience in fandoms, as a lot of it will fly over your head. But being neck-deep into fandom spaces, a lot of references hit home and were hilarious. I'm not a big fan of real-life shipping, but because this is set in a fictional place (at least, to me it is entirely fictional), it wasn't as bothersome. Our main character Wei is incredibly funny. He is a completely 'straight' man, but he was very happy to have people ship him with he supposed rival, Gu. Because the fan are much kinder than the haters that are under his comments. I like that when they actually have to interact, they actually do get along. They are both just good people and the whole rival thing is kidna silly/overdone. I feel bad for Gu, who clearly has a troubling relationship with his family and there is an accident that is alluded to, but I figure that this still has to be discussed/shown, as I am totally clueless. Sounds like a car-accident or something akin to that. The diary entries are ridiculously cute. How he keep calling Wei cute over and over again, and the 'join the ship' process bar is hilarious. Also, I found my spirit animal; they lady getting her banner signed. Wherein Wei immediatly realizes who she is, Gu is like, aw, that's a cute fanart of us. We look cute as chibi's. Overall, though the romance is lacking, the humour is spot on, I adore the fan-meta, and I like the growing friendship. Wei is an absolute sweetheart and he is such a Gu fanboy; Gu doesn't realise how good he has it!
funny lighthearted

Gu’s diary entries had me weak, the story in itself has me in a chokehold. It definitely took me back to 2013, fangirling and shipping celebrities together (especially Larry iykyk)
