I'm obsessed and this is perfect! Maomao is my girl!! She really just wants to mind her business and nobody is letting her. Jinshi is so sprung and my girl could care less. Love it for her! I really love her mind!! It lives up to the anime. One book was only half a season! I cannot wait to keep going!

loveed this! the writing at times did feel ever so slight stiff but i just feel like that’s because it’s a translation. you’re not going to get the same wording and effect in all languages so that’s totally understandable. maomao is so real and i love her so much, she is such a good neurodivergent representation. i could go on and on about what i love but i want to read the next one so just know that it’s amazing <3

I’ve read the manga, watched the anime and now I’m making my way through the novels.
You might ask yourself well doesn’t the story become rather dull after experiencing it several times?
And you’d be WRONG, it’s a slightly altered treat every time.
The novel brings such a different emphasis to not only how out Mao Mao feels but also about how sometimes she can be an unreliable narrator because of her blatant willful tunnel vision. And it’s Wonderful <3
