This is a fairly successful attempt at physics writing for a layman audience, which is noteworthy for its concentration on a topic that is of current interest to physicists - the reconciliation of quantum mechanics and relativity. A good first look at string theory if you've never heard of it before and want to know why people are talking about it.

Book displays a history of the development of String Theory. I have doubts about it though as it can't as of yet make any predictions nor can we observable data for which we may deduce. Very dense reading but very well written.

Really good and it is simple to understand... would have given it 5 stars but I made the terrible mistake of using the audiobook instead of a physical copy
