After so many volumes of the Fantagraphics EC Library, I don't know any more ways to heap praise upon it. Aside from the bonus stories in the back, John Severin penciled and/or inked all of these tales, with assists from Gene Colan and Will Elder. The stories aren't my favorite EC genres, horror and SF, but Severin was adept at western, war, and adventure stories. I have newfound respect for John after this. He doesn't skimp when it comes to backgrounds and his figures have some life to them. According to what I gleaned from Drawing Perspective, his use of perspective is masterful.
Unlike Bomb Run, his style looks more like it would later look in Cracked magazine, where I first discovered him as a kid.
