This book is what a readers dream is made up of. 1 Book and 13 indie authors and they each have a part to develop in this amazing story. Besides the fact that us as readers love the authors that we do because we love their writing style and the world that they develop for us the readers. Take 13 of them and put them all together to develop a story chapter by chapter was an exhilarating and an incredible feeling while reading this book. Verity was so relatable and so fun to get in her head. She was funny and witty and hey she cursed. Thats my kind of girl! I will not talk of Hudson because dear lord he is what dreams are made up of on his own. Thank you each and every author who contributed to this book. I was completely and totally enraptured by this book. Also thank you for the opportunity to have been given the opportunity to read this. Another book to fall in love with from beginning to end... best spent days of my life!

REVIEW_Felony_RECT
Felony Ever After: 13 Authors, 1 Story
Romantic Comedy Standalone.

13 authors, a few already on my favorite list, writing a book together? YES PLEASE. #BestIdeaEver  In my head though, I had some doubts. Some of the authors just didn't fit! Such different styles! How would this work?
The challenge was this: Pass one chapter to the next author with just the vaguest of outlines to work from and see what emerged. We were guilty of passing a box from one chapter to the next to try and mess with each other. See if you can find out who finally had to handle what was in it.

Authors included:  Helena Hunting, Debra Anastasia, Nina Bocci, Belle Aurora, Tijan, Katherine Stevens, K.A. Robinson, Liv Morris, Penelope Ward, Vi Keeland, Leisa Rayven, S.M. Lumetta, & J.M. Darhower

Well I am so happy to say, Felony Ever After worked brilliantly. I had a fantastic time reading this story! It flowed well. If I didn't know it was written by 13 authors, I would never have guessed. The really fun thing was that it was completely unpredictable, because even the authors themselves didn't know where it would go.

Verity Michaels tried to be a professional photographer in Florida, but when her business failed, she promised her father she would get a "real job" in New York City. So she finds herself as a receptionist working for a totally pervy boss who likes to 'accidentally' drop pencils and see her pick them up and who loves to work late.

If my boss tries to see my cooch one more damn time, I'm putting hot sauce in his coffee.#EyesUpHere

On one of those late nights, she decides to take a cab home, and ends up sharing it with a very sexy, tattooed, criminal looking type of guy, Hudson Fenn. When the cab driver isn't getting them home, Hudson makes sure they get there, in a not-so-legal way.
"I'll have you know that I'm carrying a taser and have a throbbing, super contagious rash. Right now. In my pants."

When she accuses Hudson of having gone to jail numerous times, he realizes she is a bit judgey.
"Because I have tattoos? You're judging me on my ink?"
“Sometimes white knights have tattoos, princess.”

The use of tweets and hashtags at the end of each chapter was my favorite part of the book.
Verity Michaels @VerityPics03 Okay, a guy with a neck tat can be sexy, right? That's allowed? #ReplacingBatteriesInTheRabbit

The next Monday, her weird (but good looking) boss Larold Lay, is desperately waiting for a package. And guess who the bike messenger who brings it is? Yup, Hudson, the guy she has been fantasizing about all weekend. But the real question is #Whatsinthebox

The banter between Hudson and Verity was awesome.

"You just seem...dangerous--like someone I should stay away from."
"Dangerous," he repeated. "Okay, so you do like me, but that scares you because I'm different than the straight-laced guys you're used to."
"Don't put words in my mouth."
"Would you prefer something else?"

Then they even begin to banter via twitter, and I loved it! But Hudson is an enigma. He's smart, has great manners, lives in a fancy apartment, yet he's a bike messenger who looks like a felon. And he has a secret room at his place.
“If you tell me that room I can’t go into at your place is a Red Room of Pain, we’re going to need to stop to buy lube and some Fifty Shades wine.”

He is so sweet, sexy and funny that Verity can't help but fall for him. Even though she still thinks he is a felon.
“You’re a total criminal, aren’t you?”
“Have I stolen your heart yet?”
“What?”
“Don’t answer. I won’t take it until you give it freely.”

And after the first date:

Strangest first date ever. #SmoothCriminal #KissMeAgain #WhyPussyFeathers

Hudson Fenn@tatwhiteknight

The real mystery of the book however, is WHAT IS IN ALL THE BOXES that her boss is so eager for and secretive about? The funny thing is, the authors didn't know either! When it finally is revealed, it is even better than I imagined. You can bet I will be buying the next book that author writes because I like the way her mind works! In fact, I liked the way they all worked!

I had such a fun time reading Felony Ever After!

The Down & Dirty:

I absolutely loved Felony Ever After. I think it is one of my favorites so far this year. From the concept of 13 authors writing it together like a domino game, to the banter, to the mystery, to the romance, to the tweets & hashtags, to the sexy times, it was everything I love. Sure, it got a little silly at times, but with Helena Hunting and Debra Anastasia, I knew what I was in for and loved every second of it. If I were an author, I'd love to be part of writing this, because as a reader it seemed like they had a great time with it. I so hope they do it again!

I loved all these short chapters made up into one story. The stories ran really well together and I think the authors did an amazing job because it was hilarious. I would love something else like this and it opened my eyes to new authors.

Thirteen authors writing one story? There’s no way it can flow and the characters won’t be consistent, I insisted but I’m please to report I was completely wrong. This book is a fun love story about two characters who are easy to like. There’s plot beyond the love story but it definitely takes a backseat to the romance and that’s fine, it works perfectly here.

The subplot with Verity’s crazy perv boss is different but intriguing and you’ll find yourself anxious to see the creep suffer. Hudson’s rather secretive and that leads to lots of tension but once Verity explains why secrets make her nervous, he opens up. That’s a nice change because so often we see him insist it’s not the right time and he’ll tell her later, only for her to discover his secret some other way, leading to a meltdown and breakup. That’s the plot of so many romances, so a book that takes this in another direction is a breath of fresh air.

One thing I really like about Verity and Hudson is that they struggle with communication in a realistic way. It drives me crazy when the whole plot is built on some stupid misunderstanding but the characters – for whatever reason and never a good one – simply don’t have any meaningful conversation at all, but suddenly the problem is solved and then they can profess their undying love. To the same person they were unable to have a shallow discussion with yesterday.

Hudson and Verity don’t just communicate well, a lot of their exchanges are funny, too. Humor is something a lot of writers attempt but few can actually pull off and I can honestly say I laughed out loud more than once while reading. And these two are hot. The sex scenes are frequent and descriptive so if you’re looking for a vicarious thrill, this book is for you. This is mostly a lighthearted story and easy to enjoy. It’s a nice treat after something heavy or emotional, a feel-good book for sure.

Highly disappointed

I expected this book to be way better with the amount of authors it had. First off it was really obvious that each chapter was written by someone different. Second the plot just didn't seem well thought out at all. It seemed more like all these authors got together and threw out the first idea that popped into their head. Why would verity not take some kind of action against her boss? Weather it be legally or with work, she should have done something. Hudson's big secret was a huge let down. The whole tweeting thing got annoying. And come on, saying I love you for the first time on social media? Oh and the book ends at 88% so prepare yourself for that. I understand that the "about the author" was bound to be longer because of how many there were but it shouldn't have taken up 22% of the book! I had to force myself to finish this book. I kept hoping it would be redeemed but it really wasn't.

It was a cute book! Fun to read, pretty fluffy. Nothing too triggering or rough.

Felony Ever After popped into our lives so suddenly, I didn’t even have time to wrap my mind around that some of my favorites wrote a book together before I got my ARC. I was so completely surprised, but how could I pass up an opportunity for another book – even she only wrote a piece of it – by my personal favorite, Leisa Rayven.

After an unlikely meeting between Verity Michaels and Hudson Fenn, they keep meeting each other, and promptly, can’t stop thinking about the meetings and the other. Verity is convinced that Hundson must be a felon and tries to stay away from him, but Hudson has other ideas. After some pursuing, Verity gives in to her feelings and they get their Happily (Felony) Ever After…. or not?

Verity is working as a receptionist in New York, after her dreams in her photography business in Florida failed her. She only took this job to please her father but her heart still lays with taking pictures of the world. She is a strong woman with seriously trust issues. Having a weirdo as a boss and a bomshell as a best friend, she never has any dull moment in her life. But enter Hudson and it’s about to get a lot more interesting.
Hudson is a bike messenger, with a look of a felon – covered in tattoos, wearing a beani – and a temper of one. He’s a mystery from the first moment I can’t help but be drawn to. He is swoony, sweet, kind-hearted yet he makes me question him so many times through this story. It took me a while to make up my mind about him and his intentions, but he won me over with the cats.

My biggest worry was about this book if the authors could pull of a similar writing style, thus making the story flowing or is it just a mix of all of their styles? Let me tell you this: they pull it off perfectly! Not only that, but while reading the book, you can and can’t tell you if it’s written by different people. You can’t because it was really consistent, with the same style and pace but you can, because you recognize them in each chapter. I haven’t read books by all of these authors, but I see Debra’s silliness, Leisa’s romantic vibes, Helena’s poetic writing and J.M.’s storytelling. It is amazing to see a story written this way and I just imagine how much fun and pain it would’ve been to follow each other.

If you haven’t even heard the names of these authors, I suggest you go look up after you finished this book, because you will be a reader of them in no time. And if you’ve read at least them and enjoyed their stories, I definitely recommend you reading Felony Ever After. You will be in for a sweet ride filled with hot and funny Twitter convos between our main characters. You really don’t want to miss them.

A book written by 13 different authors intrigued me. This very easily could have been a disaster, but I had to find out for myself. The authors did a great job, because the writing flowed perfectly. This isn't some deep love story. It's light, fun, and a little crazy at times..but that is exactly what it's supposed to be. #Tattoo&Honeybee #4ever
