john green captures the feelings of grief and loss so perfectly. it hurt my soul but i couldn’t stop reading. despite the bittersweet ending, it’s truly a beautiful book.

I think if i would’ve read this when I was around 14 years old I think I would’ve really loved this book, but I see the point that John green was trying to make like every single character was romanticized and for his first book this was actually not bad, I did feel empty and sick when the thing with Alaska happened but i didn’t cry i genuinely thought something more than that will happen but it didn’t, Lara deserved better.

It was a pretty enjoyable book, but I had a few issues with it.
Once Alaska died pudge got pretty annoying. And I get he was in love with her and that he wanted/needed answers but he became completely narrow sited into believing he was the only one who cared, and I don’t think anyone when they loose someone thinks like that. I do love how the book ended with the final essay for religion, that was very clever.

This book definitely is one of the few books that'll stay with me for a long time. I've read it the first time for school 1 1/2 years ago and I've re-read it multiple times since then. I understand why some people might not like this book but I've always been a fan of John Green's writing style and I think that some of the quotes in this book can be quite inspiring.
Even though I feel like some parts of the book were a little bit too predictable I thoroughly enjoyed it and will probably read it again sometime soon.
