The Zimmers make a stand to win Vespers heart or at least civility.

Family is a big theme in this book. As well as abandonment from Vespers POV. I think she has buried those feelings for so long any insecurities she has blossoms to the top. Since Vesper has always relied on herself, and then eventually trusting Kyrion, she needs to figure out if she can be her kick ass self but rely on others.

Kyrion is working on his own trust issues from his buried past but also his current mindset.

Naturally as all of that leads to it’s own drama, we have some new bad guys, old bad guys and new friends to help our tried and true pair. I enjoyed all of the action the adventure. I am looking forward to the next book in the series.
