4.5 stars. A great start to a series with beautiful art. I loved that we saw the perspective of a character that would have been seen as a villain in a traditional story like this. This story has potential and I am excited to see where it goes. I did wish there was more nuance about themes in her previous life (that were a bit glossed over how traumatic certain events were). Overall I am anticipating this series.

The art style is stunning. It's a reverse harem isekai, we love to see it but I didn't like the constant do-overs.

I really enjoyed the illustrations and the storyline for this. I appreciated the different take for two classic tropes: the isekai trope and the reincarnation trope. In this case, both of these are a little different - we don't focus on the person from the other world for the isekai storyline, and the reincarnation is actually just going back to a previous stage in one's life.

The Abandoned Empress Vol. 1 was a quick read. Story revolves around Aristia who was prophesized to have great importance, until someone else "fell" into her world who was the "true" person in the prophecy. Sadly, after that her life takes a drastic and tragic turn. I genuinely felt bad for her, and you think it's all over until she awakens in the past and has a chance to take charge of her life in ways she never thought of before. It's really nice seeing her trying to change her future by bettering herself in the past. I look forward to the next volume.

This was...interesting. I like the plot of going back and getting a second chance to live a life. I'm curious if the story is going to progress slowly into the final years of her life?
