I enjoyed this though I think it's definitely a "baby boomer" book. It taps into something that connects to that age group. A great example of that generation's disillusionment or like in the case of Dan, mid-life crisis. I can see where it was groundbreaking when it was first published. If you are an even a casual comic book reader, you should take this for a spin.

The best comic book of all time and it ain't even close.
The one-star reviews are hilarious; I’ll have to sit and read them all sometime to see if I can agree with any of it.
As far as the look and feel of comics of the 80s go, in my opinion this seems of the time and also timeless. The art is great and the story is great. And people have mentioned origins of characters being poor or nonexistent - what we get are the back stories, which are sufficient for our understanding or interpretation of the characters.
My only issue with this is that the ending seemed slightly premature, and parts of it aren’t explained. But I wouldn’t take marks off for that.

Dr. Manhattan stuff = really fun.
Everything else... I don't get it? I don't know. I feel bad for the illustrator who had to draw all the really boring stuff. What's the point of a graphic novel if two characters are standing around a newsstand the entire book?
This was fine. The end was wild, and I almost wish more of that happened about halfway through.
