Intriguing! There is so much to pay attention to between the text, the graphics, the social commentary...I definitely need to read it again.

"No"

“As I see it, part of the art of being a hero is knowing when you don't need to be one anymore.”

description

“Existence is random. Has no pattern save what we imagine after staring at it for too long. No meaning save what we choose to impose. This rudderless world is not shaped by vague metaphysical forces. It is not God who kills the children. Not fate that butchers them or destiny that feeds them to the dogs. It's us. Only us.”

“No. Not even in the face of Armageddon. Never compromise.”

DID NOT FINISH: 32%

The format is harder for me to read than expected, will probably try again later with a physical copy rather than a digital one

A compelling novel that provides an engaging narrative while providing a thoughtful (and still highly relevant) critique of American society that challenges the reader to reflect on uncomfortable truths and moral quandaries of modern American life. The novel also presents complex characters and calls into question the nature of vigilantes, justice, and the motivations behind altruism itself.
