We just adore this book. Simply extraordinary. Teaches us to really not judge a book by its cover, not try to be something we're not to try and win the affection of others.

Love this one. I'm not sure why Margaret isn't into it. Maybe all the words she doesn't know. Must expand her vocabulary! And grilled cheese sandwiches to boot! If the Earl of Norm can make a great grilled cheese sandwich and not burn it, I'd have snatched him up myself. I don't think I've ever not burned a cheese sandwich.

Well written and enjoyable for all levels in elementary. The vocabulary would make it appropriate for older elementary students.

Combine a wild, yet sweet tale of new found love, with the drawings of a New Yorker magazine illustrator, and you get this lovely story that is sure to delight both young and old.

Be yourself, but get to know others is the message of this fun book. Great fun story about a carefree gal who learns to see others who might be plain in a new light! (If you love grilled cheese this story is even more fun)

Oh, I like this. I like the lavishly insouciant colored pencil and watercolor illustrations. I like the fun, fancy Duchess, with her penchant for "elaborate attire" and "uncommon conversation." I like the Earl of Norm, who, although he is an intrinsically rather quiet guy, really enjoys the Duchess's spirit, and tries to spice himself up with fancy clothes and a giraffe. And I like that, in the end, he wins her over with a grilled cheese sandwich, and they find that they have more in common than they knew. Sigh. Love!

I liked this book, it is a very sweet book about being who you are and seeing that difference amongst people are good and make life more interesting. I thought the art in it was beautiful. Plus who can't be won over by a grilled cheese sandwich.
