The Cancerverse explanation was more satisfying than I initially expected. Also, love to see that Flash Thompson/Venom is going through further developments. The Annual issue was a bit weak. Strong artwork throughout the volume.

I read this out of order because I was killing time at the library, soaking up the free AC. It was entertaining enough, but the pen work was not great. The Guardians can be terrific for showcasing delicate art because they are all so different, but in this they were stale and almost flat. Even the colorist was kind of sloppy and haphazard.

The story - meh. I love The Guardians, so it's always fun to read about them, but this had too many other characters. I don't want my Guardian water muddied with Earth-girlfriends, "Revenger" and the like.

Odd and uneven, but it could have been a whole lot worse. The art was pretty inconsistent, though the latter half of the book was okay. Actually the first half of the book was mostly the problem. The whole pocket universe with Thanos and Drax and Peter was annoying. And yet the visit to the Venom planet was pretty good. And Kitty talking to Peter by hologram is still more adult Kitty Pryde than we typically get. "I am Groot" in print remains very annoying.

This book was half flashback, and both of the two stories it told were just exposition about questions you night have a had about the guardians. The c-plot sets up the giant cliffhanger ending, which doesn't seem to me like an interesting place to take the story. Oh well.

Rocket says something about Angela hanging out with them randomly lately, but she just doesn't appear in this volume, so nevermind.
