I think this book really did a great job at addressing very common traumas and struggles through a fairytale lens and showed the nuances and complicated dynamics within abusive relationships. I don’t usually like romance in books but the one in here felt more realistic than a lot of others I’ve read. Overall did a great job at exploring ever-changing/complex family dynamics and a variety of traumas and mental health challenges in a setting that was painted so beautifully and vividly by the author’s prose
