I bought this because real life was quite bad, and I wanted a nice Christmas read break. The blurb saying
"The tales in this collection will soothe your heart even if you're not overly fond of the season."
made it sound just perfect!
My grandma was dying when I started this, and I read the first story the exact night she died. So having the grandma leaving at the end of her life in the very first story was... Yeah... *Wry smile here*
And the other stories also have a lot of loss and tragedies. Yes, it might be about making the most of those situations, but it's not at all what I would expect from "soothing the heart".
Aside from the tone and topics though, the stories were fluent and easy to read. Almost a bit too short and easy at times for my personal taste. But still entertaining and interesting enough so I do not regret the time or money spent on the book! (Especially as the ebook really wasn't expensive)
