I really like this series. I have seen a great progression in Jess from book one to current. She has grown comfortable in her own skin and her intelligences. I am not usually a fan of relationships in my murder books as I find them distracting from the plot as I am a big fan of the killer. Yet the relationship between Jess and Dan fits into the series. I like that they have a complex one as it shows that they are both human.

These books are quick reads and I can guarantee that I will have a good time reading these books. What also makes this series great is the killer, who follows Jess from story to story. So this adds many layers to the overall plot and series. I can not wait to read the next book in this series. My only complaint is that the first half of the story seemed to not really go anywhere with the investigation but the second half made up for this.

Loved the story line thought out all of the series. The characters are well developed and real. The books follow Jess in her professional and personal life, just like in reality, they are very intertwined.

I binge read them one after the other starting with Silence and continuing through to the Wedding.

My personal dislikes about this series:
- too much romance (just not my cup of tea, I'm into the murder, mystery and suspense)
- too much repetition towards the end of the series. (I get the need to help people who may have picked up the series mid way through, but since I read them in succession I grew tired of reading the characters back story again and again)

Not nearly as good as the others. In this one, I liked the story about the dancer, not about the missing boy. Dan was acting like an idiot. He hires a person with a HISTORY of breaking the rules and suddenly he wants to reign her in, because she takes chances? And was she always that whiney? Geeeesh. I remember the first books being so much better. I guess they were more about the plots cuz they were both asses in this book.

I really enjoyed this book. I did not find any bit of it boring. It was like watching a movie in that it was action-packed and kept me guessing the entire time.

Apparently there were a couple of books written before this one about Jess Harris, the main character in the book. I have not read any of the previous books, yet I did not feel lost. This can be read alone, or following the other books. I suggest reading the first books first though, because this one is good and I imagine they are too. I don't like going backwards so I will not be reading the previous books, but I will be reading the next one.

Great writing, great story!

In Power, Jess and Dan are having problems with there new relationship when it comes to work, and when Dan's ex wife keeps coming around. Not only that, but Jess is kicked of a case the people in higher "power" are closing when her instincts are telling her that it's not that easy. And she also has another missing persons case that may or may not involve a gang to deal with.

Through all of these we get to see things with Dan,and Jess but also Lori. I really love Lori. And I also enjoyed how Jess handled everything even though she may not have any new friends to work with, she's still getting the job done. But I have to say I was a little disappointed with Dan when it came to his ex-wife. I really thought he would have made things more "clear" to both her, and Jess. But he seemed to not do that for some reason.

Anyways, I don't want to give to much away. I will say this one is probably my favorite book so far in this series. And I really can not wait for more, it just keeps getting better, and better. Now because of the end I'm even more worried about Jess. That girl is awesome, but also a major trouble magnet.
