This is only the second book of the series and I am absolutely obsessed with these books I cant stop reading them. The second book expands the character development and the friendships made in the first book deepen. Getting a more defined version of the secondary characters such as the other Weasley siblings and Lucius Malfoy was great to have. Professor Lockhart on the other hand got on every single last nerve I had, J.K. Rowlings description of him was just too well written to be anything but annoyed by his character. My only gripe and reason for the four stars is the ending was a bit abrupt in my opinion. Still a great read and a way to bring a bit of magic home to you.

I'm hoping with my fingers crossed that this is the worst Harry Potter book. If not, I'm going to die of boredom to make it through all 7 of them.
The plot is not nearly as tight as in Sorcerer's Stone, and it does the opposite of what I had praised for that one: There are so many useless, boring scenes that don't add up to too much that the whole book could have been half its size and contain the same plot.
It was enjoyable at some points, I didn't hate it, but it was average at best.

Graphic: Death, Violence
Moderate: Suicidal thoughts
Exceptional book. Modern classic. First book is my favorite but this is a solid sequel.
