A good, quick thriller. Not especially deep, but some good twists. Maybe a bit predictable if you’re the kind of person who puts together the puzzle as you go along, but I enjoyed it.

the last gillian flynn book i had left to read :) fun little short story that plays with the haunted house evil kid trope in an entertaining clever way. wish the ending was a bit more concrete tho

Seemed like an outline to a novel that never was.  I was quickly drawn in with rich descriptions, but then the writing got really sparse.  It was as if the author was tasked with writing a 1200 word essay and realized she was almost at that mark.   The end of the book was building to the climax, then plot twist! Then another plot twist! Then a really disappointing kind of boring ending.
