These two! I knew I would love them together, but I honestly thought it would be their heat and electricity that would draw me in the most. Nope, it was their vulnerability with each other. Plus, the comfort they got when together that they didn’t feel anywhere else. Once they let their guard down, there was no going back, regardless of the “rules” they made and their very best intentions.

Truth be told, the way these two treated each other in the previous books bothered me. I understood they were attempting to deny their attraction, but they could get fierce! On top of that, Brenna has always had to keep a very straight-laced boss bitch attitude in order to be taken seriously in her work and Rye has been the clown of the group, so I never felt as though I got to know them. So Rye’s romantic side and Brenna’s acquiescence were a pleasant surprise.

I spent the entirety of this book with butterflies in my belly and hearts in my eyes. When Brenna gutted Rye, I was gutted right along with him. Even while knowing the truth. Every time Brenna doubted Rye’s sincerity or intentions I wanted to cry. I couldn’t and didn’t blame her, but it was agonizing.

Of course, this story wasn’t all love, angst, and heat. There was also a lot of fun and teasing, amongst the main couple as well as their friends. I adore these friends who truly are a family. I really hope there will be at least one more book so Whip can find his HEA. He’s been my favorite since we met the band with his soft reassurances and shoulder everyone can lean on.
