I wanted to challenge myself and try reading something other than fiction. So I thought I would try a memoir. I definitely picked the wrong one. This was so boring and offensive. She comes off as extremely ignorant in regards to trans issues. She also briefly touches on how she can successfully be a member of the LGBTQA+ community and be a Republican, her explanation was laughable. She said she was brought up to be conservative and that she thinks republicans have been unfair to the trans community, but identifies as a republican for "fiscal reasons." So basically she only cares about money, which isn't all that surprising seeing as she has lived as a rich white privileged person her whole life. Caitlyn Jenner did help bring widespread attention to the transgender community and that's great, but she is a terribly selfish person and not a good representation of the trans community. This book is just her trying really hard not to seem like a terrible person. Not a good read.

The book was fine. I felt like I needed to know what Caitlyn's perspective was but at times it is difficult to get her privileged take on certain topics. There were parts where I surprised by her humble perspective and others that were destructive and obtuse.
emotional informative reflective slow-paced

She spoke at Microsoft, and my coworker who attended the talk loaned me her signed copy of the book.

It was a fast and banal read. No exciting "secrets" that haven't already been covered. Her political stance irks me, too.

It did keep me occupied on the ferry, though.

I was not planning to read this book. But, I saw it on the shelf at the library and decided that I needed to stay educated on what was going on in society.

My wish is that this had been better written. It seemed repetitive. But I understood the need for it to have been written.

I am not a big fan or the kardashians nor do I agree with Caitlyn’s political beliefs. The only reason I picked up this audio book was because I saw her on Big Brother VIP (Australia) and really enjoyed her on that. This book is a rollercoaster but not in a good way. Some chapters are great (like the one on OJ) other are duds and boring. I can appreciate that she didn’t have a “normal” experience with being in the spotlight and having plenty of money but it came across as whiny at times. I can also appreciate that she is honest about not being the best father to the jenner kids but kept making excuses about it. I wish she could’ve taken more responsibility throughout. Overall I’d say you could skip this book. You’re not missing anything special.

The book just seemed so ....catty. I just felt there was a lot of the blame game. I thought she really talked down her nose about people in her life, which was to me disappointing. It was an extremely slow read for me and I did not really enjoy it.

Listened to this book while driving. It sure why it interested me. I have never ever watched one show of kardashians but wanted to hear Caitlyn’s story. Interesting read and feel happy for her now that she feels happy.

A very interesting read that answers about all the questions regarding Caitlin’s transition. Go into it knowing that Caitlin is not a world famous author and therefore certain parts of the writing can be evident of this fact. Still a good read.
