Complicated
Conflicted is a gripping tale of love, right vs. wrong, fated mates, honor and valor, insurmountable odds, and passion. It is everything that encompasses forbidden love and all the longing and heartache that surrounds it. This is a story of strength and devastation, with a bit of chaos and everything possible that could be portrayed between heaven and hell, this is the relationship between Micah and Nox.
An angel and a demon are fated mates, but forbidden to love one another. This is a star crossed lovers tale unlike anything I've read and it had me on the edge of my seat. Forbidden doesn't even begin to touch these two in the realm of why they shouldn't be together. They exist on two different planes and come from entirely different worlds. Nox is a demon who dishes out punishment to the unjust and Micah is the leader of the most elite unit of angels within gods army. Their worlds shouldn't mix, but somehow these two mesh perfectly.
Micah's world sits upon his shoulders, heavy with burden and responsibilities. His one wish is to have someone love him, but even the fates seem to be against him. A demon is the last person he should be connected with, for so many reasons than just where he comes from. Nox pushes his buttons and they instantly agitate one another, but for as much as Nox is snarky, it really is the balm to Micah's overworked soul
Nox delves more into the gray areas of life and yes, he needs sin to keep up his energy, but there is more to Nox than meets the eye. The more you uncover about him, there is a sweetness under all the snark. This couple is really the perfect yin to each other's yang, but forbidden nonetheless and sadly, the rules will never let them be together.
Conflicted is an amazing first story in this new series and I can hardly wait for more.

Oh wow, Lark. Every book in this universe pulls you in deeper and deeper. Saying goodbye at the end of each one is just heartbreaking.
We’ve been waiting for this moment—the aftermath of the battle in Hell from *Luck of the Devil,* where we get a snippet that Micah and Nox are fated mates. Micah, the angel and leader of the Seraphim, has been pining after Dimitri, a newly fallen angel, who found his own mates Dagon (a demon) and Lucky (a human). Then, Micah meets Nox and feels an undeniable pull. Nox finds himself on the topside after striking a deal with Lucky, Bailey, and Oscar, who were trapped in Hell. Neither Micah nor Nox can believe it—Fate has paired an angel with a demon again, something completely forbidden by law. Angels aren’t ever allowed to have demon mates! But the bond is impossible to ignore. What starts as pure hatred slowly morphs into them meeting up daily, drawn to each other because their presence is the only thing that brings them peace.
But what about the law?
Lark Taylor is still the only PNR author I read because I’m terrified that no other universe will compare. I’m already dying to know what Ezekiel’s been up to as Micah’s second!
Damn how is it possible to choose any couples from Lark Taylor, I had an inched that Micah was more complex than we could think and I wasn’t disappointed!!! Micah and Nox are now one of my fav couples, I loved how they interacted, the tension between them, the taste of forbidden, of secret, of hate !! When they’re together, they just become one - they’re really made for each other !!
It was wonderful to get a better understanding of the Seraphim and how Heathen works, I love them all by the way, this unit is a family and they truly support each other, also they’re all a little crazy which is just a perfect image of angels.
Micah is the perfect leader, he’s in charge of everything and his main goal is to ensure the security of his unit, he would do anything for them, but Micah is missing someone to take care of him, to let him breathe, release all the tension, the pent-up energy. Good thing that fate chose Nox for him, despite knowing that he should not get involved with an angel, he cannot prevent himself from making trouble, catching his attention, and infuriating him !!
Lot of games of cat and house, lot of banter, lot of tension, that book has everything I love, and in addition, Micah and Nox bring the story higher !! It will be one of my favourite reads!!
I cannot wait for more as always !
I received an ARC Copy of this book from the author, this review is from my own thoughts 😍
Micah
He has the weight of the world on his shoulders literally. He sacrifices his every want and need for the sake of his unit, to follow commands past down without question. All Micah wants is to let go, to have a moment where no one relies on him, he decisions, his leadership, his guidance. A moment where he could let go, where he could be free. Fate was cruel, the one he felt for was destined for someone else in fact 2 someone else’s. What has Micah done to deserve such hurt and dismissal. And in a twist of fate he finally finds his true mate, that true mate happens to be a higher demon. Micah finds Nox to be arrogant, sarcastic and sexy but what he didn’t expect was for his demon to have depth, to be caring and to love with the heat of fire from hell itself. Micah has never been more passionate and felt as wanted with another in his entire existence. This love is against the laws of the heavens, it is doomed from the start yet Micah cannot help but fall for his demon who shows him what true love is.
Nox
Having finally escaped the underworld known as hell he was finally free. Nox has always felt like something was missing but he didn’t think the missing part was a fated mate, Micah. He was fated to an uptight, follow the rules, never question his commands, Micah. This angel wants him, there’s no doubt about that but he wants him because Nox resembles the one Micah truly loves, or at least that’s what he thinks. Nox wants to be more than a stand in for Micah and is determined to show him what true want, need and love is. This demon isn’t afraid to go after who he wants, he will show Micah that he is the man for him. When the rules of the heavens forbid their love Nox is determined to save his love. He will die for Micah just as he has loved Micah.
Beautifully heartbreaking. I love that Nox sacrifices his chance at happiness with his love to protect him, seeing who Micah truly is and the goodness that he exhudes, Nox will protect him and avenge him at all costs. Even if that’s at the cost of his own life. Micah is not about to lose his demon, he finally found true love, his fated mate, Nox challenges Micah in every way, he makes Micah look at the world differently and he both loves and hates that. Nox opened up to Micah so beautifully and showed Micah exactly what it was like to be wanted for everything that he is. Nox shows Micah what it’s like to have an equal partner, someone to share the burden with, someone he can let down his walls and embrace his emotions with. Love comes in the most unexpected places but fate knows exactly what it’s are doing.

So many feels!
What an emotional ride this book is. My heart was broken into too many pieces to count, I cried too many times to count and I was left with the sappiest/happiest smile on my face at the end with my heart in tact. The Archangel Micah and Higher Demon Nox are fated mates but that doesn’t ensure them an easy HEA. These wonderful men start off as enemies, with sizzling chemistry, who gradually look beyond what’s on the surface to discover the hidden layers beneath. A discovery which shows that they are worthy of an all encompassing love and that they are prepared to fight for. A fight they believe they have to face alone, until shown otherwise.
This is a wonderful read with lots of steam, angst and a hard earned HEA. With so many interesting side characters and some from previous books, plus an intriguing and well written plot made for a truly enjoyable reading experience. I can’t wait for more of this series.

I really loved this one. I think its my favourite. And I am so exited to see the other members of the seraphim and the demons. I really liked the development of their relationship. It was a beautiful thing to read. And of course we had some old friends appearing in the story, and I always love when it happens❤️❤️❤️❤️
