This story can't quite make up its mind. It starts out as Cinderella retelling with the hero sweeping the damsel in distress off to his castle. It morphs into magic with immortal mages and menage. It then takes sharp turn into action/adventure/suspense with a side of torture and the damsel rescuing herself from the evil-doers.

The characters are interesting and different and the story holds together for all the weird turns. Plus, there's a dragon.
