I am astonished at how much I *didn't* enjoy this book.
I really enjoyed Serpent and Dove. Blood and Honey held it's own...
And this was just awful.
The storyline was flat and disinteresting, the characters showed no personal growth, the dialogue was fake/forced, and I just honestly could not have cared less about what happened in the end.
I've read and dnf'd many books, but I pushed through this one thinking there HAD to be a redeeming point or a turn around where the story improved.
That did not happen.
I'm not sure what Shelby Mahurin was thinking, but this book/plot could have been SO much better.
(Also the sex scenes were super cringey - like, either write a sex scene or don't. This was borderline embarrassing)

Idk I don't really remember like the first 100 or so pages of this book but by the end I was invested and tearing up so if I like it but like I feel like it didn't NEED to be 600 pages but like also I'm sad it's over so
