A very descriptive author, that's for sure!

It took me more than a year to get through this book, and I skipped about half of the stories. "The Legend of Sleepy Horror" and "Rip Van Winkle" are the only fictional stories in the book - the rest deal with Irving's life in England.

I couldn't really relate to this author. In my opinion, there are better writers out there.

Cuento corto, para leer en 1 hora o menos, pero no me gustó. Prefiero las adaptaciones cinematográficas

I had to read this for school, so I’m definitely biased, but it was really difficult for me to read. The prose was really complex and hard to understand. It likely would have been better for me if I had an audio book to help me detect tone, but as for reading alone, I didn’t enjoy it too much.

This was very atmospheric. I'm shocked. I haven't read the original tale until now

Hugely enjoyed Irving's writing style. After being a bit let down by classic horror novels this year, I was happy to find that this one was exciting and creepy, even with the flowery writing. I most certainly want to read more of Irving's writing.
