Oh good heavens Mo Williams does not disappoint. Hilarious and so much fun.

HILARIOUS!

The first time I read this aloud to my kids they yelled at me because I could not stop laughing (nor could I breathe) because it was so funny. Love everything about this clever re-telling of the familiar fairy tale. A must-read at any age. My favorite Mo Willems.

Another funny version of Goldilocks and the Three Bears, only this time with dinosaurs. My students seem to like anything that is funny. They also got a kick out of seeing the pidgeon in the story.

Willems, Mo. Goldilocks and the Three Dinosaurs. New York: Balzer & Bray, 2012. Print. 40 p.

A retelling of Goldilocks and the Three Bears, this version by Mo Willems is comical in tone. Children will be entertained and amused with this twist on the traditional story. The accompanying illustrations are simple and child-like. Instead of three bears, Goldilocks enters the home of three dinosaurs. In this version, the dinosaur trio set a trap for Goldilocks with chocolate pudding, and inviting chairs and beds. Goldilocks soon figures out the trap and makes a run for it. Told in a way that children in first and second grade will find funny, the work may not as enjoyable for children without well developed senses of humor. A writing prompt in which children retell other classic tales in a comical tone nicely accompanies this title. Children pick classic tales out of a hat to retell such as; 'The Three Little Pigs”, “Little Red Riding Hood” , “Jack and the Beanstalk”, among others.

Another fun read for Mo Willems, with lots of little details for adults as well as children. Straightforward art style, fun story that depend on a knowledge of Goldilocks and the Three Bears. Satisfying, with hints of Roland Dahl’s style of storytelling.

"The moral is, if you find yourself in the wrong story, get out."
Good stuff, recommended.

Loved this! Really funny with lots of cute details. Younger kids wouldn't understand the satire and sarcasm, but would be good for 10+, depending on the kid.

Dear Mo,

You get me. Thank you. That is all.

Very fun "twist" on a familiar story.
