This was so heartwarming. Archer is an absolute steal of a man, I really did want to cradle him and then lick him.

3.5 Stars! Loved the characters and the story was really interesting but I didn’t love the writing unfortunately
4/5 estrellas

I really enjoyed the dynamic between Archer and Bree and watching both of them grow throughout the story. I wish there was more that included Travis and his mom since that storyline seemed to get wrapped up super quickly. Really good book and had some nice ups and downs.
I was gonna give this book 3 stars, but then I realized: I don't like pretty much anything from this book. Here's why:
- The writing was awful. I don't expect phenomenal writing from romance novels compared to other genres, but this was embarrassing. It started okay, and then it got so cringy and just bad. Theres nothing else to say except it was bad.
- Everything just resolved so easily. You're telling me Bree witnesses her father get shot and almost gets raped and has "flashbacks" for months but then she spends one night at a guy's house that shes known for a month and BAM shes cured? Seriously? Archer goes to a strip club and kisses another woman because you know he's been in isolation (apparently without a computer or a single brain cell) so how could he possibly know thats wrong? And Bree, well of course she forgives him practically instantly. Also the ending was just really weird. It just felt forced and unncessary and unreasonably far-fetched.
- How does one "own" a town, exactly?
- Insta love. I just don't enjoy this trope at all.
- The characters were so flat. I could not connect or relate to Bree or Archer, or any of the side characters for that matter, at all. Even given their traumatic backstories, I just felt like they really lacked actual defining character.
I don't hate this book enough to give it 1 star but I didn't particularly enjoy it enough to give it more than 2.
