This book was so beautifully written.

An astrology meets mythology tale of "star"crossed lovers who are destined to find each other in every lifetime.

How can one say no to that?

It was well written. Each character was well written without feeling like they were co-dependent on someone else to keep their storyline interesting. The MMC and FMC complemented each other so well, the literal balance of light and darkness which was shown through their magick and also through their individual struggles.
Both MCs stories were emotional to read. I loved their pasts and how it played into their future.
I loved the side characters as well, they held their own and added richness to the plot.

The plot twist at the end and the reveal of who they are just blew me away.

I highly recommend this book. It was such a beautiful and emotional journey and I cried so many tears along the way.

Onto the second book immediately after that cliffhanger 🩷

3.5 rounded up to 3.

I enjoyed this enemies to lovers story. The fact that they ended up as soulmates and we got some great hurt/comfort scenes along the way was just perfect. But the book ran a little long and some of the plot twists got a little repetitive, which is why I rounded down. The cliffhanger will make you want to jump right into book two.

I tried so hard to enjoy this book, I really did. I was hooked in the first chapter. Runaway princess, beautiful scenery descriptions, and the potential for some really in-depth world building. But after the first chapter, it all fell flat. It was the same trope I read in every other basic romantasy series. The character development was stagnant, there were no surprises, and I just couldn’t get invested in the plot. 100% total letdown.

the feelings I went through

This book had me giddy, kicking my feet, blushing, gasping, falling in love, head over heels, then it had me shook, heart broken, then it repaired my heart and I was happy, then it broke my heart again!!!!!!! And I cried and I smiled and I laughed and I loved it so much.

The world building and the pure talent of the author to make me feel everything, and envision so so clearly everything that was happening. Anyways I’m sad it’s done. 10/10

Considering this is a debut novel I’m willing to give the benefit of the doubt to this author and see where she carries it with the second book. With that being said, it took me for ever to get through the second half of this book, it had a lot of potential that was lost in bad pacing and trying to do too much in one book. Keep it simple, and then add more as you go along. Usually I don’t mind when the romance is more centric than the plot, but I do still want some plot and I feel like in this book the plot made up like 10% of it which… at that point it’s just a romance with things happening in a fantasy setting. The plot needed ironing out a little bit too, there were things that too me just didn’t make sense and it felt like the plot was being forced onto the reader to justify the relationship between the two main characters and to push their story. By the end of the book I kinda just have in and went sure okay, this is what’s happening then…

On a more positive note, the romance I felt was really good and her characters all had charm and charisma and they were fun to be a part of. They were not lying when they said this book was slow burn, it is extremely slow burn (frustratingly sometimes) but I really enjoyed reading the enemies to lovers aspect unfold with Enzo and El.
