This was good but it wasn’t my favorite Agatha Christie. I figured out the twists and turns pretty early on and actually was right on this one, wild for her books. It was still a good plot, but not my fave
This was a fun book. The plot twists were enjoyable and there was an interesting array of characters. That said, it felt a bit more juvenile than many other of Christie's works, which comes from the main characters being quite young and acting so. Definitely a different type of work as compared to the whodunit murder mysteries Christie is so famous for.

I enjoyed the mystery! But the writing itself was just ok. Overall a fun (but not inspiring) read

4 Stars • "The Secret Adversary," Agatha Christie's 1922 novel, introduces Tommy Beresford and Tuppence Cowley, unemployed friends who start "The Young Adventurers, Ltd." Their first case involves Jane Finn, a missing woman tied to a secret treaty from the Lusitania sinking. Pursued by the sinister Mr. Brown, they navigate espionage and danger, ultimately rescuing Jane, thwarting the villain, and saving Britain. Their adventure ignites their romance and future as detectives.

Really fun read, a book that I just had to keep reading. My main issue is it reads like the author just learned what a red herring is and is so excited to try it out. Very loveable main characters

This was okay! I’m a big fan of Agatha Christie’s work, and love a good Poirot from her, but hadn’t read any of her ‘Tommy and Tuppence’ installments until this one. I enjoyed the dated, flirtatious banter between the two of them and I’m glad I started with the first one that way I can see their relationship develop if I read more of them.
The mystery itself was pretty well done, as is to be expected from Christie, but the reveal wasn’t as captivating as she articulates them in Poirot novels or ‘And Then There Were None’. I did enjoy the slight curveball at the end, and that I hadn’t actually figured it out when I thought I did.
