I was really into Kingsolver for a while and loved this book at first. It has some really good passages, especially the ones about moths. Of her works, however, I enjoyed [book: The Bean Trees] more and still have yet to read her most famous (and supposedly best) publication: [book:The Poisionwood Bible].

Great book. Three stories woven together, tied by the land in its many facets. Lush description is often a key to my heart, and Kingsokver provides plenty.

I thought I had read this before. Even had it downloaded on my kindle. But pretty sure I had not. And boy was I missing out. Reading this in mid-February know has me excited to start planning my spring gardens and plants.

Unique take on growing up in the South by relating the people with nature. It's a bit diverse with one of the characters coming from a Palestinian background and Jewish/Muslim religious memories.
