Great art but not really sure what was going on.

totally reading again!!! this first volume is confusing, dramatic, and hits me right in the heart. it is about a teenage punk (ami), and her friends and rivals (some are both things at the same time). she kind of gets "chosen"? eaten? by a haunted house, befriends it, and works to bring all of its missing pieces home-its ghosts. on the way tragedies occur, including the death of a rival band. there is a lot of gerard ways writing style in this, but with stronger world building. the emotionnnn though, shines through so clearly that i just have to make this a favorite.

I love being taken along for the ride and comics do that beautifully. Sure, there were a -lot- of different elements thrown in but I’m excited to see where it goes. Colour use is banging, artwork in general is gorgeous and I’m pumped to see what comes next

A very confusing comic where you get thrown a bunch of characters and then more ghost characters but an interesting plot I suppose.

Great art by Wijngaard and a terrific premise by Watters--a haunted house that wants some of its haunted items returned to it from where they've been scattered through the city--though he rushes the story, the punk rock element is hit or miss, and the mash-up in the latter half of the story with science fiction, a shadowy government agency, and kaiju battles serve only to deepen the story's identity crisis.

Wow. Looooved it. It was funny and scary and gory and spooky and kept me surprised. Characters were fun. I felt like the story contained a lot of usual graphic novel/scifi and horror story elements and still combined them in a fresh new way. Hoping my library buys volume 2 and 3 or eventually I will.
