A haunted house ghost story with a punk rock soul. Capturing the teenage angst of carving out an identity while growing older, Home Sick Pilots takes some weird turns as the plot progresses, but with good writing and strong art, it's a wild adventure through trauma, healing, and hauntings with lots of supernatural mishaps to go around.
Love the art style. The narration style is interesting and keeps me engaged. Supernatural haunted house vibes with shitty punk rock bands and a secret ghost organization. Excited to read the second one.
This was a fantastic graphic novel. The art was beautiful, it really put you in the 90s mindset. The only thing I even found slightly off about it was the slightly disjointed timeline, but I got used to it after a while. Although I am excited to see where it goes in the future although I think the basis of the story might already be done.

The plot is okay, I guess. The introduction to the other monster at the video store… I was confused by its existence and what its motive was until Chapter 5. It is working with a government group? Ghost hunters? I am intrigued by the thought of Meg in a ghost suit and battling Ami in a Pacific Rim style.
I stayed for the art style. I look forward to finding more titles drawn by Caspar Wijngaard.
