This is the first book by this author that I've read that I really struggled with my mind kept wondering while reading I just couldn't stay connected with the story or its characters.

4.5 stars - My review cross-posted from Wit and Sin: http://witandsin.blogspot.com/2014/08/review-convicted-by-dee-tenorio.html

Convicted is a sexy, gritty, exciting story that’ll keep you reading late into the night. Dee Tenorio keeps the danger – and the fantastic one-liners – coming fast and hard in this engaging romantic suspense.

Katrina is one of my favorite Dee Tenorio heroines, and (given my love for Ms. Tenorio’s characters) that’s saying something. She’s an alpha female whose strength and sassiness I admired and enjoyed, but it’s her hidden vulnerabilities and big heart which really sealed the deal. Katrina goes through a hell of a lot as an undercover DEA agent and I wanted to see her succeed not only in saving the town but in finding the happiness she so deserves. Cade is every bit her equal and he too hides his pain well, but his personality is a case of still waters that run deep. He and Katrina complement one another, but there’s also plenty of friction to keep things interesting and unpredictable. The sparks that fly between the two of them from the start just get hotter and hotter as the story goes on, and I loved watching how their relationship developed.

Romance aside, the fight to save the town of Marketta from the violent, drug-running motorcycle club keeps the action in Convicted moving at a quick clip. Ms. Tenorio keeps you guessing as to how Cade and Katrina (especially Katrina) will make it out alive. I loved that I was every bit as invested in the suspense side of the story as I was the romance.

Convicted has a kick-ass hero and heroine, an insanely hot romance, sharp dialogue, and an intense plot – what’s not to love? I devoured Katrina and Cade’s book and I look forward to revisiting their story again and again.

Note: Convicted was previously published and has been revised and expanded.

FTC Disclosure: I received this book for free from the publisher in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.

Convicted is one of the sexiest suspense novels I’ve read in quite a while. It’s mysterious, hot and funny at the same time, while the story is unpredictable and the characters are just magnificent.

Katrina is a fierce, strong and kickass woman. She is highly intelligent, but she’s also very funny. She’s loyal and has such a big heart. In fact, I loved everything about her character so much that I hope I could be like her. Her stubbornness, her “rage issues” , her sensitivity and her sense of right and wrong are just some of her attributes that you will absolutely adore while reading the book.

Cade is such a sad and angry soul in the beginning of the book. He still suffers from the war and its effects, despite the fact that he does everything possible to ignore his pain. Like any other military man, he believes he’s got it under control and that he is ok with being lonely and intimidating. He doesn’t care anymore. Katrina changes that. One day, he is annoyed by her unyielding insistence to talk to him and the next, he has a nickname for her and cannot wait until he sees her again

The story is very well written and the events flow elegantly and effortlessly. The characters are pure masterpieces. Both Katrina and Cade are amazing as individuals and as a couple. They’re both very kickass, but they are also different from each other. They compliment each other. When Cade is rough around the edges, Katrina is there with her smile and witty comments to bring him back to the playful and lively side of life. And when Katrina is in trouble, Cade is there to be her rock, to support, protect and defend her without a moment’s hesitation.

The beginning is intriguing, while the ending is explosive - literally and metaphorically speaking - . You can’t help but love it!

I consider Convicted as one of my favorite books and I strongly recommend it to any fan of Romance, Suspense and Adventure and Crime Solving and Sexy Romance.

Dee Tenorio, very well done!!

5 Golden Stars go to Convicted!!

Some of my highlights - All these happen near the end of the book so...

She looked down at the man who didn't have the decency to take his tongue off of her pussy before giving her a self-satisfied smile.

...he finally rested his chin on her mound, his eyes glittering in the low light. “Tastes like you missed me. A lot.”

Her legs shook around him, which he watched with a male fascination she usually only saw over engines.

“Fine, but if you so much as twitch from this spot, I’m fucking you until you need a wheelchair.”
“And for God’s sake, woman, after all you’ve put me through, you’d damn well better twitch.”

Because having her love back wasn’t the point. The point was knowing he’d accepted his feelings for her.

Wouldn’t hear her whispers as she made promises she wasn’t sure she could keep. Things like leaving the DEA to settle down with only a few guns and a Ducati to feed her wild side if he’d let her stay with him

Perverse, maybe, but if their lives weren’t in danger, this would probably rate as his best date ever.

He must have managed an incredulous look of his own though, because Trina simply hitched a shoulder. “They moved.” (after she blew up some bad guys)

I was given an ARC of Convicted by Dee Tenorio from Entangled for an honest review.

So I first started reading books from Entangled when I discovered Jennifer Armentrout and J. Lynn. Up until now, she has been my favorite romance author. She is now tied for first place with Dee Tenorio.

I just have to say…

I loved this book.

I didn’t just think it was good for a romance novel, it was just plain good.

The book was well paced, well edited, and had some killer dialogue. The characters were so well developed too. Dee clearly has a strong understanding of what it is to be marine. Her description of the personal struggles and challenges that some of the characters faced were downright visceral in the best possible way. The conflict and tension between the main characters was realistic and necessary to move the plot forward. It didn’t just exist to create sparks for the sake of sparks.

And speaking of sparks. Wowza. I really don’t know what else to say. You’ll just have to read it…

It was really interesting to see a female in the role of somewhat arrogant, bad guy who makes all of the sexual advances. So often it is always a chauvinistic male making innuendos and being a bit of an asshole. And yet, we love him don’t we? I really think readers will be as intrigued as I was by the role reversal. I loved Trina’s character. She is one ass-kicker of a lady. If I’ve said it once I’ll say it again. I FREAKING LOVE FLAWED CHARACTERS. They are the best and the most interesting to read.

I’m giving this a solid 4 out of 5 for overall awesomeness and quality of writing. I’m officially going out and buying everything else this woman has written.
