Big Girl unpacks so much of the dynamics between generations of women--the lies we're told about ourselves and our worth, the lies we pass on. And there are some unique parallels between gentrification (who owns a place, who has the right to say what becomes of it) and bodily autonomy (who makes the rules that govern women's bodies, black and brown bodies--who has the right to say). And, y'all, the writing... it's stellar.

This isn't an easy book. A lot of wrestling with fatphobia happens in these pages. Big Girl is a coming of age story. It's a story about the things we become addicted to. And what we can release.

Ultimately, though, it's a story about finding yourself, your own unique way of being, of living unapologetically in the world.

This was a powerful book. And an excellent book club discussion starter. Highly recommend.
